If I actually made 99,000 changes to this device I guess I would not be so angry. But I made no changes and yet it is this. Restarting, clearing the credential cache, none of this does anything but start the entire odious process over again. It is halfway done and I have been waiitying for over two hours!!!!!!!!!! It is worse than watching paint dry.WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON OVER THERE. I HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS THAT I LITERALLY SPEND EIGHT HOURS FIXING OR SUFFERING THROUGH FIXES AS OPPOSED TO USING HTE MACHINE FOR WORK.IT HAS BECOME A MASSIVE TIME SUCK AND THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE D

User.000 issue after updating to 1909

I'm one of the many people suffering from issues with user profiles after applying Update 1909 to Windows 10. I've read all the threads I can find on the topic here and have followed the suggestions, all to no avail. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

After applying Update 1909, the ProfileImagePath was changed to c:\users\User.000
One file that was always in use and couldn't be removed was left in c:\users\User (can't recall or find the exact file now), so I could never rename or remove the c:\user\User directory.

I followed the multiple suggestions from Brink and others:
    • Rebooted at least 6 times
    • Enabled hidden Administrator
    • Booted into Safe Mode
    • Changed ProfileImagePath
    • Tried to rename c:\users\User but couldn't because a file was still in use
    • Copied all data from c:\users\User.000 into c:\users\User
    • Rebooted and had temporary profile
    • Followed steps in Brink tutorial to change ImageProfilePath; rebooted with no change
    • Restored using Restore Point from before Update 1909 - returned to single profile state (User.000)
    • Removed each update that was installed individually and rebooted after each update removal - profile state never changed
    • After all updates were removed, repeated the steps above with hidden Administrator, changing profile, etc. - same issue with file in use in c:\users\User
    • Followed all steps above with hidden Administrator but without copying files from User.000 to User - same results

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

OneDrive "stuck" on processing 2 changes

Thanks for your reply. I’ll admit that I haven’t followed your steps yet, but have some questions:
    1. I am setup with a local account (not Microsoft) with administrator rights. When I added a Microsoft account and logged in, OneDrive synced just fine. On the local account, it “stuck” with processing 2 changes, although the OneDrive folder on my pc and online
were identical. So why is my local account “stuck”?
    2. I noticed, on the local account, that if I checked the “files on demand” box under OneDrive settings, I got a pop-up saying my OneDrive was not connected to Windows. How do I fix that?
    3. I also noticed that on my local account, OneDrive does not start at Windows login, even though I have it checked on OneDrive settings.

In general, it looks like the best choice is to change to a Microsoft account to fix the OneDrive issue. What is your advice?

    OneDrive incessantly searching and processing

    Hello.

Before anyone gives the standard response; yes, I have done all the steps listed on the OneDrive forum, and no, they did not work.

My One Drive is stuck in an endless cycle. It spends a few seconds saying it is looking for files. then for about one second it says it is processing 413 files (which is certainly not possible; I've never created/changed hat many files at once without
syncing), then for a split second says I'm all set, then goes back into the 'looking for files' mode. It does this on an endless loop. What's even more strange is that every once in a while the 'processing files' part says it is processing a different number
of files. Usually it is 413, but occasionally it shows up as 75, and every once in a while it shows up as processing 2 files. (It is plausible that it actually is processing 2 files; but those other quantities are simply not possible based on how I've been
using OneDrive. However, from what I can tell, everything is synced properly and the 'all set' mode appears to be the correct one).

I"m using Windows 10 Home, version 1803. I updated yesterday; that did not solve the problem. I've paused and resumed OneDrive; no change. I've logged out and logged back in of OneDrive; no change. I've rebooted; no change. I've done all of these things
in every possible combination of sequences; no change.

    Any ideas?
