Windows 10: What gives you the right to make my computer less useful by changing the details pane so I...

I now have to go through more steps to accomplish the same thing I was doing before. It's like taking your car in for an oil change and they've replaced your automatic transmission with a stick shift. I didn't update my computer to make less functionable. I don't just want to tell you the problem I'm having, I want to know how you are going to restore to me something that you have taken away.

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.

Windows 10 Explorer File Details Pane

If you are referring for preview pane in File explorer then follow the steps below.

• Open File explorer; open any document or file or folder.
• Click on View on the Quick access toolbar ribbon.
• Click on Preview pane or Details pane.

You may please provide your suggestions in the feedback app. It will be directly referred by our

Follow the steps:

• Go to Start, enter the phrase Windows Feedback and then select Windows Feedback.
• See if someone else has given similar feedback by entering the topic, such as Microsoft Music.
• If you find similar feedback, select it, add any details and then select
  Me too.
• To narrow your search to a specific category, pick the category that most closely matches your feedback (so it gets to the right people quickly). For example, for feedback about the Music app, select Apps > Music.
• If you don’t find any similar feedback, select New Feedback, choose a topic from
  Select a category and then select a subcategory.

Windows 10 Explorer File Details Pane

I am looking to have the file details pane on the bottom of the file explorer window and not to the right of the files list. For me it is useless to have it off to the right as it requires my file explorer window to be too wide.

My workflow requires me to have up to 8 separate file explorer windows open at the same time. I reduce the width of each so I can have them side by side on a second monitor. In windows 7, I was able to have the file details at the bottom of this window
which would give me a thumbnail of the image selected.

It seems silly that Microsoft took that away and "Submitting if for an improvement" sounds stupid when it used to work and now it doesn't. Sounds like a case of two steps forward and three steps back. Thanks Microsoft...
