    What happened to news in the widgets in the taskbar?


    After the latest MS Update, I noticed that in the widgets on the taskbar, when hovering, I no longer see my News items like I usually see when opening a new tab/window in Edge:I also tried to add a new widget for news but none exists! While when opening a new Edge window, I do see "Top Stories" as expected:Any reason I no longer can see news/top stories on the widget?

    You can hide the News Widget from your taskbar, follow these steps:

    First, right-click on the empty area in Taskbar and select the ‘Taskbar Settings’.

    From the Taskbar settings page, turn Off the ‘Widget’ option under the Taskbar items section.

    This will immediately hide the news widget on the Windows 11 taskbar. If you want to show the widget icon again on the taskbar, just turn the widget back on again.

    Windows 10’s taskbar is getting a big update with new weather and news widget - The Verge
    To disable the taskbar news widget, use these steps:

    • Right-click the taskbar on Windows 10.
    • Select the News and interests menu and choose the Hidden option. Disable taskbar News and Interests.
    • (Optional) Select the Show icon only option if you want to keep the widget using less space in the taskbar.
