Windows 10: What happened to Notepad

    What happened to Notepad


    What did you do to Notepad? It worked just fine in the old versions of Windows. I cannot right click and get a clean notpad. Used to be able to click New and get a clean pad. Now there is not a choice. Just Note and when I click on it I get the last note I saved. So now I have to click the menu on the top and find new. Quit screwing up the nice old feature we had.

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

    • Open Task Manager. Here’s a tip: press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
    • Click on Startup tab.
    • Select Notepad from the list and click on Disable.

    I followed your suggestion but wasn't able to find Notepad listed on the startup. There are some listed as program but don't know which ones it could be.

    What happened to Notepad

    Notepad on Windows 7\

    Suggestion would be uninstall then new install on Win7. Maybe an older version would work better? A list, maybe Version 7?
