Windows 10: What happens if my 12VHPWR cable has one extension and then the rest are just normal pcie...

So my friend has a 4080 super and told me its under performing and im thinking that it might be the fact that his 12VHPWR has one extension cable and then 2 normal pcie cables.Would that be the problem? Also the gpu drivers are all updated as well as the others.Thank you!

Extension cables question.

Can vouch for these, I have 2x6pin pcie extensions from NZXT and they look great, nice quality too.

 

USB Type-C Hub does not work with extension cable

"USB 3.1" can mean USB 3.1 Gen. 1 (5 Gbit/s), or USB 3.1 Gen. 2 (10 Gbit/s). The cable you posted about in #3 is described as 10 Gbit/s compatible and its length es 1 m, which is consistent with a Gen. 2 cable. (In the current terminology, it seems that "3.1" is not used anymore, now is 3.2 Gen. 1/2).

What I suggested was to try a "Gen.1" cable, since the hub is Gen.1. Among others, I found this in Amazon, which is 2.0 m long, therefore Gen. 1:

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Settings > System > Apps & Features > Uninstall the problem Edge Extension(s)
  
• 
  Go to Store > manually search the store for the extension, then install it again.
  

After it's installed, click the 'Launch' button and it will take you to Edge where you can set it up.
