Windows 10: ¿What happens to a dynamic disk if I format my Windows or change its version?

I have a dynamic disk configuration for two HDDs not for the OS, just for games and personal stuff. I want to format my PC with a fresh install of Windows, but I'm afraid it will delete everything. Do I need to do something before formatting, or is there a way to avoid losing all my personal files? Any recommendations? Or should I avoid formatting my PC?

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.

Disk Spanning/Dynamic Disks?

Thats what I was asking about...
I dont know how to; Disk Management is quite unhelpful.
Also, which disk do I select to make into a dynamic disk? Do I need to select both, or the empty one, or the one with Windows on it?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  Right click on the Start Menu.
  
• 
  Select Disk Management.
  
• 
  Right-click on the drive letter you want to change and click
  Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  
• 
  Click Change...
  
• 
  Use the drop down to the right of Assign the following drive letter: to select a new drive letter.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  

Try formatting the disk again.
