Windows 10: What happens to saved photos and files when switching OS?

Hello,


My PC is currently running on the Ubuntu operating system, however I plan to switch it over to Windows 10 this weekend. The only question I have: what happens to the photos and files I have already saved on my computer when I make the switch?


I only ask because I have a lot of photos saved on my PC already, and I'm kind of scared to make the switch without knowing how I can protect them, or if I even need to protect them.

how to save scanned photos and documents to computer

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to give permission for entire system, so that you can save the files in photos and documents.

• Right click on the folder and click on properties.
• Click on security tab and select the group\user name.
• Click on edit option and check the option full control.
• Click on apply and then on ok button.

Now you can try saving the file in photos and documents and check if the issue persists.

Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.
