    What has changed in 1803 that stops it from installing on my Samsung series 7 laptop?


    I have tried everyway i can think of to get 1803 to run. I note on the Samsung site the Series 7 is not on their list as being able to run 1803. What has changed underneath?


    i can live with 1709 Pro which runs perfectly. I just need to defer updates every few months in the settings.

    Hi Padster8543,

    Over time with these Windows Updates, some hardware will not be supported on the newer versions, it will become legacy hardware as each Bi-yearly update is basically a re-write of the OS

    It is like, when a system was compatible with Windows 7, but when Windows 8 came out, it was not compatible.

    If you are happy with 1709, and your system is not listed as being compatible with 1803, then it sill not be compatible with future builds.

    Your best option, may be to now turn off Automatic Updates and if necessary install a 3rd party Anti-virus as you would no longer receive security updates to Windows . . .

    Hi,

    each Windows 10 major version is in fact a new OS. There are may changes inside and most of all are not announced to public, only to closed circle of developers. Hardware manufacturers may update built-in software for compatibility with new Windows and may
    not do this - there are a lo of examples for both behavior styles.

    So please ask Samsung about a compatibility your computer with 1803.
