Windows 10: What has happened to basic delete functionality in Explorer?

For a good while now Explorer drives me nuts short drive too when I click on a folder and hit delete.Explorer will sometimes just sit there smugly challenging me to click the folder to go into it. When I do it likes to tell me that the folder doesn't exist. I have to hit F5 to see it is truly gone.Another issue is I have bat files that create folders for me. Double click one in Explorer or run from command prompt and it used to be the new folders showed up immediately. But nooooo. Now I have to hit F5 so Explorer does its job I should get part of its pay.Threads are great but surely some

"This file can't be previewed" problem in explorer

• Delete all the files.
• After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.

Delete and Cut Files with Preview Pane Open

• What exactly happens when try to delete the pdf file?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Open File Explorer.

  Select View and click on preview panel.

  Select the pdf file.
  
• 
  At the right corner you will be able to see preview panel.
  
• 
  You can right click on it and delete the files.

Delete auto suggestions

As per the issue description you are wiling to delete Auto suggestion of previous search suggestions on Internet Explorer. I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and see if it helps you to fix the issue.

• Open Internet Explorer.
• Click on Tools (Ring) icon at the right top.
• Click on the Advanced tab then scroll down to Enable Suggested Sites and uncheck the box to turn it off then click Ok.

• Close Internet Explorer and restart it and see if it brings any difference.
