    What in the firewall is blocking my app? UPDATE


    Here's some background.

    Win 10 Version 19041
    I do a lot of Arduino programming and a lot of my projects utilise a feature called OTA (Over the Air program uploads over WiFi).. Sometime in the past few weeks the OTA uploads stopped working. I downloaded the Arduino IDE program to another desktop PC and to a Windows tablet. OTA works fine from those two platforms. On the problem PC, I can get the OTA feature to work if turn off the public firewall. So, my conclusion is that the firewall is blocking something that this feature needs.

    How can I determine what the firewire is blocking?

    I have all notifications turned on. Is there a firewall log that I can't find?

    UPDATE:
    I found the logs:
    Event Viewer, Applications and Services Logs, Microsoft, Windows, Windows Firewall With Advanced Security, Firewall
    But it doesn't show anything when the OTA fails.

    Windows Firewall blocks App Store from downloading new apps

    Hi,

    Let's try to check if the app store you're referring to if it's really blocked by Windows Firewall. See these steps:

    • Open Windows Firewall from the taskbar >
      Firewall & network protection       > Allow an app through firewall.
    • A new window will show up containing the list of the apps that ca be allowed through Firewall.
    • Look for the app you want to be accessed, and make sure that the Domain, Private and Public are ticked. That would allow the app store to be accessed.

    Let us know what happens after doing the suggestion.

    I can't get email to update and a suggestion was made that me Firewall is blocking it

    Blocked app is still playable, and doesn't look like it's staying blocked on the list

    • Is the child account signed in as a local or a Microsoft user account?

    I suggest you to check the Firewall settings on the system.

    Steps:-

    • Block the app from Recent Activity.
    • Press “Windows Key + X” and select Control Panel.
    • Go to System and Security and select Windows Firewall.
    • Click on “Allow an app through Windows Firewall”.
    • Select Firewall Settings and check the status of the app there.
