Windows 10: What is best method for replacing Win7 pc with Win10 pc and OneDrive files synching

I am finally replacing old pc Win7 with a new pc Win10. Old pc set up with OneDrive for Business with MS 365 Business Basic email/license.

Have files in OneDrive folder set to syc to BOTH cloud and pc. This acts as internal fileserver for small company and shared with employees to access on cloud.

Do I need to set up new pc with SAME MS account only or also with same pc name for networking?

Do I unlink old pc under OneDrive settings? Then setup OneDrive on new pc?

Will files on cloud be confused with files on new pc? I have backed up files on old pc to external drive and plan to manually transfer to new pc.

What do you suggest?

WIN10 HOMEGROUP not accessible by WIN7 PCs

Hello,

I cannot connect my WIN 7(home) PCs (3 of them) to a homegoup created on a new Windows 10 (home) computer.

The WIN 7 PC see each other without any issue.

Here’s how I proceeded:

• Leave all homegroups on the WIN7 PCs
• Create a new homegroup on the WIN10 pc with the same group
• The WIN7 PCs see the new homegroup
• Click on join and enter password
• After some time I get a message that connection was not possible

I’ve also tried to create the homegroup on a WIN7 pc. The WIN10 pc can see and accept to join but the shares are not visible.

Since installing Win7 on my PC my Samsung smart phone will not synch with my PC!

 

OneDrive

There is no obvious place to ask OneDrive questions, so I'll try here. If there's a more proper place, please let me know.

I've been using OneDrive for maybe 9 months on both Win7 and Win10 machines. When it works it's great. Twice now however I've accidentally discovered that OneDrive has not been synching properly from the Win7 machine. This happened maybe 6 months ago
and after a lot of effort the only solution seemed to be to uninstall/reinstall OneDrive. This worked but caused a lot of file duplication ugliness that I had to resolve manually.

So yesterday I discover that it has not been synching selected files for the past week. It seems to download files ok, but with files changed on my Win7 it tags them as needing synch but does not do so. And if I try to do things like turn off synch for
those files OneDrive will object that I really shouldn't do that until the synch is complete.

According to the OneDrive pop up control panel all is working. I tried none-the-less to tell it to pause synchinging, then later to resume synching. I then get a bunch of messages about how it's searching the disk for things that need to be synched, etc.,
but it does not actually do so. My directory listing shows various files with the little synch symbol indicating that they're waiting to synch, but...

Rebooting of course does nothing to help.

Any suggestions?
