I recently noticed that I have various windows services that have a strange addition, in my case _6a952 after the original service name

Background applications

How do I find out what is running in the background? Windows seems to have many features which I will never need. I understand why they are there. Some people want machines to run alarm clocks or special tracking apps or special message apps. I don't
want these things. They take up memory, they bottle up my CPU, and they generally irritate me without adding one shred of value. How do I delete those things I do not need? How do I know which of items on these lengthy lists of services are useless to me?
