Windows 10: What is ExplorerPatcher

I have issues with my Win 11 PC and am trying to use the Settings-System-Recovery procedure but after clicking on Reinstall Now against Fix Problems using Windows Update and clicking OK, after getting the "We'll repair components and system files" I get it to 14% and a new window opens as per screen shot attached.I have no idea where to go with this and hope somebody can help urgently.Thanks

Why ExplorerPatcher is breaking Windows 11?

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

There are multiple things in your question.

1. ExplorerPatcher is not a Microsoft product. This will need to be fixed by the developer. Microsoft also does not recommend using altenrates which modify shell.

2. Microsoft labels your PC as non-compatible. In these cases, Microsoft claims that unexpected things might happen.

For better stability, I recommend uninstalling ExplorerPatcher.

Where do I find it in my drive so that i can add it to my EXCLUSIONS? I'm also fed up of defender being over protective in cases that are unwarranted.

I actually found it. Just add this folder to exclusions

C:\Program Files\ExplorerPatcher

 

Can't move taskbar on windows 11

Moving the Taskbar is not supported, yet.

Move the Taskbar: Moving the Taskbar to any part of the screen and resizing it is not supported yet.

Microsoft is tracking collection of this in the Feedback, I suggest you to vote for the same in the Hub.

Something like ExplorerPatcher may help in the meantime.
