    What is happening to the icons on my desktop and my file explorer?


    After personalizing my Desktop wallpaper from picture to slideshow, the icons from not only my desktop but also my file explorer on this account have disappeared — nothing on the left navigation/panel is displaying where normally Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Quick Access happen to be. Note that the labels are still there.In addition to changing the wallpaper I also wanted to change the startup sound which required me to download a StartupSoundChanger execution file which required 'Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 KB5031323'.I checked on another

    Cannot find Desktop Icon in File Explorer

    Now that is interesting. If I do what you suggest, File Explorer Address bar changes to C:\Users\username\documents and the missing ICONS are there. But there is still not a "Desktop" folder.

    Is this a step in the right direction?

    Cannot find Desktop Icon in File Explorer

    My Desktop is showing icons as normal. But if I try to find what is on my desktop by using file manager, I cannot find the icon. I also checked under C;\user my name, public, default and no desktop listed on any of them. Any suggestions?
