What is the Difference Between Hyper-V and CPU/Hardware Virtualization?

copy pasting this from Microsoft Learn forums because answers may be more common here;in regard to Virtual Machines, I am aware that you need to enable Virtualization in the Bios, which is related to the CPU; however, there's also Hyper-V within Windows itselfwhat's the difference between the two? does enabling Hyper-V automatically enable Virtualization in the Firmware? does Hyper-V simply allow you to create a VM as long as the Bios Virtualization is enabled?I was able to turn Hyper-V on without Virtualization enabled in the Bios, so what would have happened if I tried to use it?to clarify,

    :)

Problem with Install Hyper-V in Windows 10

Do you have Windows 10 pro? If not then Hyper V will not work.

Do you have the 64 bit version of Windows?

    Requirements:

64-bit Processor with Second Level Address Translation (SLAT).

CPU support for VM Monitor Mode Extension (VT-c on Intel CPU's).

Minimum of 4 GB memory. As virtual machines share memory with the Hyper-V host, you will need to provide enough memory to handle the expected virtual workload.

The following items will need to be enabled in the system BIOS:

Virtualization Technology - may have a different label depending on motherboard manufacturer.

    Hardware Enforced Data Execution Prevention.

To verify compatibility, open up PowerShell or a command prompt (cmd.exe) and type systeminfo. If all listed Hyper-V requirements have a value of Yes, your system can run the Hyper-V role. If any item returns No, check the requirements listed in this document
    and make adjustments where possible.

What is the Difference Between Hyper-V and CPU/Hardware Virtualization?

Importing Virtual PC -> Hyper V

Thank you. I followed the instructions below, and when I go to hit the action menu to install Integration services, of course, there is no such option under the Action Menu. The instructions seem so simple but I'm still missing something...

Step 4: Install or upgrade integration services

Hyper-V includes a software package for supported guest operating systems that improves integration between the physical computer and the virtual machine. This package is referred to as integration services. To learn more, see Integration
    Services
    .

This step can't be automated or done within a Windows PowerShell session.

    To install integration services

    • Open Hyper-V Manager. From the Server Manager Tools menu, click Hyper-V Manager.

    • Connect to the virtual machine. Right-click the name of the virtual machine and click Connect.

    • From the Action menu of Virtual Machine Connection, click Insert Integration Services Setup Disk. This action loads the setup disk in the virtual DVD drive. Depending on the guest operating system installed, you may
need to start the installation manually.

    • After the installation finishes, all integration services are available for use.
