  1. What is the File Size for the nov. 13th (build 10586) update?

I've been downloading the new Win 10 update for 45 mins. but it's still at 0%. What's the file size for this update? if anyone here has already updated to version 1511, 10586 i would like to ask how long did it take for the download to finish and the installation process duration. My Internet is at 100-300kbps.
Any estimate on how long this would take?

    :)

  5. Is 100-300kbps your ISP service speed or your download speed from Microsoft ?
OTOH if the 100-300kbps is just MS throttling the download it should speed up quite a bit at some point although I'm not getting real good speed tests right now maybe there is a lot of net congestion because of Windows being pushed out or the NSA is playing around again .

FWIW to give you an idea Windows 10 *usually * shows up as ~ 3.10 GB file size here YMMV slightly .
3.10 GB @ 250kbps = 29:35:15..... long time its should be ready tomorrow night maybe ~ midnight if you are on PST or 9:00 PM on Eastern Time ☻☻

    I remember 2 GB downloads taking ~ 4 hours @ 1.5 Mb/s and 2 hrs at 3 Mb/s now I'm on an 18 Mb/s service .
W10 Install takes ~ about 40 minutes here on metal hdd , ofc thats CPU and hdd + ram dependent YMMV and that includes downloading current updates during the install . IIRC .... You can by pass that step on the set up screen at some point and run Windows update later . Heck I remember DOS which was maybe 2-3 floppy disks.

OTOH be glad ur not on 56K dial up I remember that , ( it never made 56K anyway ) that would be maybe 5-6 days or longer☻☻

  6. EDIT :
Right AFAIL the file size can vary some depending on lang. packs pro or home , ISO ,MCT or whatever . OTOH my MCT download file size was 3.61 GB just like you said .

Downloading Star Wars Battlefront pre order into the game box right now (not this one ) big file ...27 GB on PC it goes live on the 17th it's 19 GB for the PS 4 console slaves but the graphics and play aren't as good if you got the PC ,CPU and dGPU for it . ☺☺

I played the SWBF beta while it was out it was awesome @ 1080p ultra . I got a $20.00 rebate to use on it for buying Crew now I'm waiting for the Crew update in a few days . ☻☻

  7. 100-300 kbps is my ISP service speed, sometimes it can reach up to 1-2 mbps at around 1-4 am. I also remember downloading the Media Creation tool for Win10 which i used for Clean Installing, it took about 18 hours but right now my update is still at 0%. Should i restart my Laptop and retry the download? I also wanna ask if this update is worth my time cause i've been seeing a lot of complaints on the internet regarding this update that it won't install after download.

  8. What is the File Size for the nov. 13th (build 10586) update?

The % meters are pretty unreliable and get stuck often.

If you can can still open File Explorer goto this computer or this PC > Windows X local disc c:\ > look for a $WINDOWS~BT folder > right click on it > open properties > general > and whatever percentage of 3.61GB you have in there Should tell you what you have so far . If it's empty or just some Kb perhaps you should re try.

Windows should terminate a disconnect and let you know so I would be surprised if your $WINDOWS~BT folder was empty look for it to increase in size over some time to make sure it's not a prior download just sitting there if doesn't move then maybe re try . .

If you have to re connect I would use the MCT link here you can upgrade now right there and start the download /set up or download an ISO file or USB file .

If you do that you might want to take the make an ISO option. Then you will not have to download it again if the upgrade fails.

  10. m mmm that might be good if the download manager resumes a terminated download on a re connect I believe Chrome and Fire Fox will do that not sure about IE 11 or ....yikes Edge ? ☺

F/F has an excellent download mgr .for long downloads

As far as the new 10586.3 th2 Windows build ( it's not an update it's new ) I would install it ,it's the best windows 10 build yet by a country mile and presumably the final th series build until maybe next tear when Redstone goes public after they let us quit playing with it in the Insider group .

  11. I did as you said and restarted my Laptop but when i retried the update it still keeps getting stuck at 0% so i checked the $WINDOWS~BT folder and it was at 59 MB. Since 1% of the 3 GB update should be around 30-50 mb it should be displaying 1% but it's at 0%. Is Windows Update by any chance capable of Resuming Downloads even when you get disconnected for a very long time provided you don't shut down your device?

  12. OK don't worry about your $WINDOWS ~ BT folder for now. Forget about Windows update and use the MCT link here it should be less crowded (server wise ) than the Microsoft update servers it will fix the $WINDOWS ~ BT folder and likely clean it out and re install the 59 MB in there or use what is there already .

If you have Firefox that's a very good browser to start the long download with ,it's very good with large downloads but you can use IE 11 or Chrome as well .

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

The MCT will download and install Windows 10 10586.3 for you . You can use the upgrade now option or download an ISO file or USB file . I've used the upgrade now option on 2 PC's no problems with it.

  13. What is the File Size for the nov. 13th (build 10586) update?

Took about 6 hours to update after the download. I have lots of programs (140+) and it's a laptop.

Took about the same time to upgrade from 8.1 to 10 as I recall. Look in task manager to see if update is running.

Seriously, why does Microsoft not show you how big these downloads are anymore? Is it 5kb, or 5GB, I would like to know.
