    What is the proud browser virus do?


    So, recently my computer had problems, and I went to a Microsoft store, and they said it is a extension named "proud browser" although I never Installed it. The agent fixed everything of course, but that's not my point. I am just wondering how it could've got on my computer, and what exactly it tries to take? Thanks

    Did you scan with Adwcleaner and the Emsisoft Emergency Kit?

    Did you follow all of the suggested steps in How To Remove SafeSearch.net & SafeSearch Search (Mac & Windows) to include scanning
    with Zemana, Malwarebytes and if necessary with Hitman Pro?

    The scanners that have been recommended should work on "Safesearch" hijacker and also on "some other virus."

    Did you reset your browsers as suggested in my previous post?

    If you do not wish to use the independent scanners (listed above) that I use when removing adware and PUPS from computers and you do not want to reset your browsers then you may want to reset your computer. Before considering this option suggest you

    All browsers log me off of websites

    That could be, but with all browsers, all at once? That would suggest it's the virus protection. The virus protection lists each browser and the cookies that are supposedly in there that I could clean out if I wanted to. It's as if the browsers aren't
    seeing the cookies.
