Windows 10: What is the "Question" sound event in the Sound Control Panel in Windows 10?

What is the "Question" sound event in the Sound Control Panel in Windows 10 for and when does it play? Here is a picture of the event.s. Ignore the name of the sound scheme CLOSER TO WINDOWS 7 M M, that does not matter.

This issue you are facing might be due to Sound settings on your computer. So I would suggest you to follow below steps to make changes in Sound Settings.

Right Click on Desktop screen and choose Personalize.

From the bottom panel click on Sounds.

Under Program Events, look for Device Connect, Disconnect and Failed to Connect.

Choose one option at a time and from the sounds option choose none.

This process will disable sounds for the 3 program events and sound will not play if you are in normal state or sleep mode.

Control Panel Sounds: not working

In fact the window seems unfamiliar; shouldn't it have check boxes showing which actions have been set?

OK, sorted thanks. I found a suggestion to update the driver for the 'High Definition Audio Device'. That got my 'Program Events' sounds back.

As for my other query, I now remember that the speaker icon indicates the enabled events.
