Windows 10: What is this restart?

Hi all; hope everyone is having a great day so far. : So i turned my pc on tonight about 19:15pm BST, UK. And then afew minutes later; about 19:19pm only like 5 minutes after; i get a pop up saying my pc is gonna restart in a minute and it does so. I have managed to track down what im sure is the culprit. "The process C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe ELSINLOCK has initiated the restart of computer ELSINLOCK on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: Application:&n

Hard drive/ OS issue

a guy suggested :

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!

Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...

One step I did try right away was to answer your question about whether my BIOS is up-to-date. I had no success at the AMI site but did get some info from this commercial site:
