    What is Visual Studio 2022 and why is it constantly downloading something every 15 minutes?


    Every 15 or 20 minutes, my PC fan goes into overdrive and starts blowing very loudly. Every time this happens, "Visual Studio 2022 background downloader" appears in the task manager and is eating up all the cpu and disk %. Clicking on it and ending/pausing the task causes everything to return to normal.What is this software and why is it doing this so often? Is it even supposed to be doing this?Can I rid my machine of this evil software?Thanks.
