Windows 10: What might cause my Visual Basic SUDOKU player app, that I wrote years ago, to suddenly...

My SUDOKU game player program, written for XP, has always worked on every version since XP, including Win 11. It was working on my Win 10 laptop until November 2023 after an update. The app acts as if it is working---it generates a game, except that it puts more than one of the same digits in a row or column or square. Then it says it cannot solve the game. If I put a number into a cell, it does not replace the underbar there, it pushes the underbar over and puts the number to the left. I have re-installed the app, to no avail. It still works on my wife's Win 11 laptop. I copied her .EX
