What monitor specs do you look for?

Requirements: 32", 4k, cheap but not junk. I'm 90% sure I want standard 16:9 and not an odd, wide size.

I've done nearly all my research on rtings.com and I'm not sure what specs are important and what isn't. This will be a work monitor so I figure lag and refresh rate are pretty much arbitrary. IPS is generally better at color and viewing angle. VA is better at black/gray uniformity and contrast. In an office, but in a lit office that may be of no concern. I refined this list by price...

What determines or restricts monitor specs?

That 280X Graphics card is fine for whatever you want to do the only drawback i see for gaming is 3GB RAM, out of the 5 models listed under this 280X the only difference in specs is clock speeds, not sure which is yours. You have up to 4096 X 2160 Pixel for DisplayPort Resolution, enough for that Samsung . http://www.sapphiretech.com/productd...05911&lang=eng

That Samsung you want to buy is 2K listed specs not 4K. Either purchase of a new Card or a Monitor is going to be around the same cost, give or take a hundred bucks. What was the model of Samsung you have now ?
130cm of space going to leave you with 45cm left of space, not much space with this monitor on a desk,34" monitor. Look into 27" monitors in 2K or 4K.

  3. looking for a budget gaming monitor

I have a gtx 970 superclock the GPU isn't really the concern, eye strain and fatigue however would be if the 60hz monitor has ghosting and motion blur, but as someone stated a lot of these 60hz monitors are being over clocked.

I'm at work today so I'll look into the things you guys are mentioning thanks for all the info and suggestions I'll check back in tonight and look at specs and reviews of all the suggestions

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

    Here's a quick laundry list:

List of software to use for overclocking and testing
    Examples:
Wattman (and how to find and use it, like an overview, including profiles)
Unigine Valley or Heaven (use this for quick testing while changing settings in Wattman and checking for stability / artifacts) ...just suggesting this
How to monitor cores / mem speeds and temps during testing (I've seen screen overlays, and others using GPUz)

    Step-by step overclocking in Wattman
    Fan speeds
    Power limit
    Temp limit
    Voltages
    Core speeds
    Memory speeds
