    What realtek drivers should I use on my Asus fx505dt laptop


    The current driver that I am using is from asus's website.
    The problem with this driver is that the sound effects tab is missing in the realtek audio manager.
    So I have no equalizer either

    Looks like Berton got there first..... and or thinking was very much along the same lines.

    Did you enter BIOS and see what it is seeing?

    Think I would load defaults in BIOS to allow it to sense what is installed.

    Still fails I would return. Modules can be bad.

    Asus usually has a Qualified Vendor list.

    One site that I've never had issues with Crucial.com

    Normally I try to match specs on memory modules.

    Crucial claims that the max RAM supported by the laptop is 32 GB (2 X 16 GB). I know of no more trustworthy source of information.

    These are the specs for the Samsung RAM:

    It's not obvious why there'd be a problem.

    I get from your post that the laptop came with a single 8GB SODIMM, and that you're trying to add a second. Is that correct?
