What safety precautions do I have to make after an virus/malware-attack?

Hey,recently my PC got infected by some malware/virus. I contacted the Microsoft-Support and together we could solve the issue. There is just one thing that still concerns me - they said that a virus/malware usually attacks/manipulates the on the system installed Antivirus-Program in order for it to roam free on. So my question: After having scanned an removed all malicious files with two different Antivirus-Programs Malwarebytes & MS Defender, Is my McAfee-Antivirus which was the only one installed during the infection fine and usable again or do I have to reinstall/update it?A second

    :)

Is it a Virus or a Malware or something else?

    Hello Joes,

There's a possibility that your device is infected with a malware causing why you're unable to delete the game on your laptop. In order for us to assist you better, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Aside from formatting the hard drive, what other troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • Have you asked your friend where did he download the games?

To identify if your computer is infected with a virus or malware, we recommend downloading and running
Microsoft Safety Scanner. The scanner can easily detect if there's any virus found on your device. To do so, follow the steps on this
    link.

We are looking forward to your reply.

What safety precautions do I have to make after an virus/malware-attack?

SEcurity against malware and virus attackes

There is very little need for anti-malware/virus protection on windows phone 8. SDK restrictions and Marketplace vetting ensures that no virus apps can be created and published to the Marketplace.

The browser is also very limited in how it can interact with your phone's content.

The main avenue of "attack" in my opinion would be phishing attempts where an email might directly to to a website that looks official, but maliciously tricks you into entering personal information. With these attacks, human vigilance is the best defense.

The andriod marketplace is less rigously policed than Microsoft or Apple's and therefore carries a greater risk.

However, if you developer unlock your phone and side-load apps, then you do so entirely at your own risk.
