Windows 10: What security policy is preventing me from accessing my WD MyCloudEX4100 NAS after updating...

Hello, Can anyone help me determine what setting change will allow me to access my shared folders on my MyCloudEX4100 NAS over my home network. I was able to reach and access the NAS before the upgrade and I'm using the admin account I setup, but my laptop error states the share is not accessible through 'unauthenticated guest access' connection because of an enterprise security policy and the error code "0x80070418". My Synology and Seagate NAS shares are not returning the same error. I have look at settings on the NAS but don't see anything applicable to this and in the policy editor, but a

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

This error is due to the fact that your NAS prohibits accounts with guest privileges from accessing the NAS.

Give you the option to add NAS account credentials in the console.

It is also recommended that you enable NTLMv1 in your NAS.

So if you do want to use a shared network to access the NAS, I suggest you go into the control panel and add back all the SMB protocol features.

Then add your NAS credentials to the Windows Credentials Manager like this

\\\your NAS SERVER IP

USER NAME

PASSWORD

Of course the problem itself is not supported by the Microsoft community.

security policy blocks access to NAS

Suddenly, when trying to access files stored on my NAS I am block by some issue with security policies.



No idea what caused this. Have not installed anything new in over a week and this hppened just now.

 

Preventing access to modern app

Ive been tasked with preventing the children from accessing instagram. I've got it listed in my windows hosts file and internet options/security/restricted site but the windows 10 app is still allowing access. Any suggestions other then deleting app which can just be reinstalled?
