Windows 10: What setting is required to wake up the PC from hibernation for a timer

Hi,I upgraded my PC with a new motherboard and CPU. Windows 11 the latest.I use Kodi scheduled recording timer. The old PC was able to wake up from hibernation to start the recording. The new was unable to do that.What settings do I need to set to wake it up for the timer?Thanks

Dear Geethu! Really thanks for such fast reply. But!

In other words - you don't know how to get rid of wake events! Did you underastand my question? How exactly your solution is helping in getting rid of wake events?

I do not want to troubleshoot power as I said before, I want Windows not to wake up no matter what is set in Allow Wake Timers setting. I want to turn off Wake Timers for real, once and for all, and forget about them for the rest of my life.

And the question (after applying your solution) still remains: why PC is waking up if Wake Timers are disabled?

wake from sleep but not hibernation

No problem . I assume you did not enable wake timers while "on battery" before hibernating.

If this was s3 sleep then it I guess this would be the expected behavior as you did not enable wake timers "on battery" and when you put the pc to sleep/hibernation then windows will probably detect that you were on battery power and that that wake timers are not allowed in battery mode before going into sleep, as s3 sleep is just "sleep" with no cpu so it had no way of knowing that now your connected to ac power when it is either in sleep/hibernate and follows the options you setup before you put the pc to sleep/hibernate.

Sorry, I don't know how modern standby works but #21 suggests that denis had either enabled wake timers on battery, if not this is the expected behavior like you concluded .

 

Windows 10 new computer wakes from hibernate randomly. Here's a list of things I've tried to fix it.

I have a brand new PC with a fresh Windows 10 Pro install. The computer randomly wakes from hibernation. This occurs about 20 minutes after I hibernate it.

Here are the things I've tried:

1. Edit the registry Key hkey_local_machine\software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon and modify PowerdownAfterShutdown to 1. This did not fix it.
2. Disabled “Allow wake timers” in advanced power settings. Did not fix it.
   
3. Confirmed that my wifi network adapter is not allowed to wake the computer.
   
4. Opened the Reboot properties in Task Schedule as administrator and tried to disable "Wake the computer to run this task." I got an error which prevented me from saving the change.
   
5. Checked wake timers in the administrator command prompt. "C:\Windows\system32>powercfg /waketimers There are no active wake timers in the system."
   

Any other suggestions?

Windows and all drivers are up to date.
