Windows 10: what should i do when automatic disk check is taking to long

    what should i do when automatic disk check is taking to long


    I turned my laptop on yesterday and walked away for a second. It started an automatic disk check and i wasn’t there to stop it. Its been suck around 55% on stage 1 since around 11 last night. I need to use my laptop, the ETA is more than 100 hours what should I do.

    Checking Disk Consistency

    Ok i did as viper suggested, but it stops checking at stage 3. It is still saying the drive is dirty, and still needs to be checked. I did a defrag and a disk cleanup, and suggestions?

    Disk Check Issue?

    I'm having the Disk Check issue again. However, this time, I can't use Startup Repair to fix it. Can you address this?

    geforce experience takes an age to load..

    Well that's why I asked. Mine is on SSD and takes 11 seconds. Your list of games will not appear if it has not checkd for updated suggested settings for awhile until it checks.

    When it says it is refreshing the game list, it is checking, because NVIDIA periodically updates suggested settings. Plus it will look for those for new games you have installed.

    So, the less it is run, the slower it will be.
