  1. What to check when PC crashes when viewing Streaming services

Hello, I'm hoping some assistance with some crashing issues on my relatively new PC build.

Bit of background/current checks. The first day I set up my PC, I noticed that if I opened a streaming service like Netflix, my computer would instantaneously crash/reboot. I assumed it was just a lack of drivers, so I checked my Windows updates, installed everything, checked my Asus Armory Crate, installed everything, checked my graphics card drivers, installed everything. After I was able to play netflix, that is until I restarted the next day and it started crashing again. I reviewed the event logger to see,

    • "Initialization failed because the driver device could not be created. Use the string "x" to identify the interface for which initialization failed. It represents the MAC address of the failed interface or the Globally Unique Interface Identifier GUID if NetBT was unable to map from GUID to MAC address. If neither the MAC address nor the GUID were available, the string represents a cluster device name. "

After some research online, they suggested that this could result from an older windows version clashing. This is a new build, but the original install had crashed so I did have an old windows folder on my pc. I removed this folder, and the issue seemed resolved, for a few days and then it started crashing again.

Thinking it had something to do with the video display settings, I ran the Video troubleshooter and it suggested that I needed the HEVC codec. I purchased this through the MS store and the issue again seemed resolved, for the moment. Today the crashing resumed. I ran the Windows diagnostics on the RAM and found no errors. After some additional research, it appears this could be an error from my work's VPN, though I used this on my previous PC with no issues. I have a plethora of errors in my event viewer and trying to decipher any other issues. Also not sure if that's the issue for the crash, or if that's simply an error in the log.
A few other events that seem intriguing are:

    • The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event:
      \Device\Video3
    • Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x8007045b, A system shutdown is in progress.

Hopefully I provided enough info if not overkill. I'd be grateful for any advice on what else I can check or review to stop my pc from crashing.
