    what to do about a phantom account made last night and started subscription i want to...


    where did BeingMatthewSpears1 come from and when because there is a subscription in an account in which i forgot the name of it but thats not it. I dont recognize that one unless i had come up with it and abandoned it long ago. what do you think i should do about the lost account and subscription that i signed up for last night? i remember starting a *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and an *** Email address is removed for privacy *** which everytime i even think about signing in to one of them my network and router goes crazy. its nuts. ive got to stop that subscription though at some point

    What "user list" are you talking about specifically? Where exactly do you see this extra account?

    There is "User Accounts" applet in Control Panel. There's "Users" list in Computer Management applet. There is user list that drops down from your name in Start Menu (if you have Fast User Switching enabled). There is user list on Welcome screen (for interactive users). There is a list of user profiles in Advanced System Settings... Etc etc etc.

    Do you see that mysterious user in all of these places? Some of them? Just one of them?

    The account is created by Anti Theft feature of ESET Smart Security, if you have that feature enabled.

    W10 phantom user account...how do I get rid of it

    Please open the Command Prompt by typing cmd.exe into Start Menu, right-click on Cmd.exe, and open it as an administrator.

    Execute following command to find out if it list "phantom" account:

    Phantom account problem unresolved

    Definitely not a virus.

    Rather, I started getting that phantom user when trying to get rid of the annoying password requirement of Windows 10 using netplwiz as suggested by some here.

    Not only does the program not do it, but now I end up with a phantom user that can't be deleted.
