Windows 10: What to do about creaking sound, when opening brand new laptop?

I just got a Surface Laptop 5 the other day, and I have noticed that whenever I open or close the lid of my laptop, you hear a very low creaking noise. At first I thought that there might be some plastic cover that I forgot to take off, but after checking, there seems to be nothing on the screen or keyboard that could get in the way when closing/opening. What can I do to fix it? other than return it for a new one, if there is no fix I can do myself.

I ran the troubleshoot power option and it said “Display brightness setting is too high”

but it’s a brand new laptop, i should think I could expect the most from it.

I haven’t tried the next steps uou have suggested yet.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

I suggest you to download and install the latest audio drivers from your computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.



As you are mentioning it is a brand new computer, I suggest you to check with the computer manufacturer customer support and check if it helps.
