Windows 10: What to do when system image recovery destroys data partitions

Recently I had an issue with my computer caused by a feature that I confused with a virus the annoying and extremely invasive OSD volume controls.It had been a very long time since I had last used the image system restore feature probably around 2016, since this computer had never had major issues before.Attempts to restore the computer using restore points failed, so I went for the system image restore, which had been taken in Jan-24.The problem is that though I have 3 partitions C:\ for OS, D:\ for data, and E:\, I only backed up C:\ along with another system partition that is backed

Guys i am trying to fix my cousins Asus Eee netbook. It has a backup image file that is partitioned on the hard drive but when I go to use it the app will run through a few steps and stop. It is running Vista . Any suggestions?

 

Recovery of partitioned disk from system image

I have an SSD of 1TB. I partitioned half of it to be used for general storage and used the other half for installing Windows 10. This means there's 4 partitions:

• 100MB (EFI System partition),
• 499.99GB NTFS (boot, page file, crash dump, basic data partition),
• 509MB (recovery partition),
• 431.51 GB NTFS (Basic data partition)

If I create a system recovery image and perform a recovery from that image, will the partition I have created for my general storage (431.51GB) be affected in any way? Or does recovery process just act on the 499.99 GB partition?
