Windows 10: what to do with folder labeled "win7" after upgrading from win7 to win10?

the problem is when i download a program or look at a website, it has a low picture quality and it bugs me. my theory is that my os still thinks im windows 7 because i found out that i have a folder named "win7" and the files and programs from my desktop is copied in that folder. such as the downloads folder. and i checked the Duplicate downloads folder and there are my downloads from my current updated os! i tried to reinstall my programs but i still ends up in "C: / Users / win7 / Downloads" chain. i tried the troubleshooter and it worked but only on 3 of them most of them were not my impo

Win7 --> Win10 upgrade

When MS made the Win10 free upgrade available, I upgraded my win7 system to win10. Some time after that, I had a disk failure and reinstalled win7 because it was my understanding the free win10 upgrade was no longer available. That was a year and a half
or so ago. Now I was just reading that, in fact, Microsoft keeps that information on a server and that I could, in fact, reinstall win10. Is that correct? I would really have to put win10 on and then find out it wasn't licensed and I had to go back and reinstall
win7.

 

win7 to win10 to win7 to win 10

If I upgrade from win7 to win10 and within 1 month I go back to win7 , will it still be possible to go back to win10 , before the 'free' upgrade ends ?

 

homegroup win10 not recognize printer & scanner on win7 computer

my devices I am trying to access on the win7 computer are:

Printer: Stylus Photo R200

Scanner: Perfection 4180

I had these originally on my computer B4 win10 install. After the install they did not work. That is why I connected to my other win7 computer. The win7 is within my Homegroup and when I access thru win10 I get access to docs, picts, videos, etc but not
the above devices. Reversing this, accessing my win10 computer from the win7, I get the icon my Epson Workforce 310 printer which I set up on the win7 computer for printing as well as the above devices.

Went to Epson website on the win7 comp & found the recommended driver for win7. Did the same on the win10 comp to find drivers for win10. (Did not update these drivers yet.) Apparently they have 2 different drivers dependent on WIN version. Both drivers
are up to date.

Is it possible the drivers are not compatible and this accounts for these devices not showing up on the win10 machine? Don't know if win10 driver will work on win7. I may try to set these up on win10 machine. If work can upgrade win7 to win10.

I tried steps 1 & 2. Step 3, I know I have devices set to show on the network.

Any other suggestions/comments??
