    What to do with my computers security now that McAfee is gone?


    I just uninstalled my free trial of McAfee that came preinstalled on my new laptop. Once I did that I activated my computer's security options. Is there anything specific I should be paying attention to? Anything specific I should do? What is Microsoft Defender and how is that different from my Windows Security App?Any information is welcomed and thank you to whoever is able to assist me with this matter.

    Did you (a) uninstall the Dell-preinstalled McAfee free-trial AND THEN (b) download/run the McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool & reboot (c) BEFORE you installed McAfee SaaS Endpoint Security on the Windows 7 computer?

    • Fact: McAfee (and Norton) applications are notorious for not uninstalling (or upgrading) cleanly. The "leftovers" may be your troublemaker here.
