Windows 10: what up with the Windows 10 update ? its hogging 4gb ram and using 5-15% cpu while idle ?

Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

Hi There,

I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

• I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
• physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it

Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

Svchost hogging 80% of RAM and 15% of CPU

Hello there, guys.

I recently got some hardware parts from the store and built myself a really decent gaming rig.

The build itself went fine, nothing wrong with the hardware or the installation.

Windows 10 setup worked like a charm, so everything seemed fine.

Now since a few days my RAM and CPU usage went off the charts when I booted my pc.

At the moment, while typing this using only Google Chrome and nothing significant is running in the background, my computer is using 16% of its CPU (Intel Core i7 6700k @4.00Ghz) and 83% of its RAM (16Gb Corsair Vengeance Pro). That's a lot for doing nothing,
right?

In the task manager, a service host called "Local System" (translated from Dutch) is using 14% of CPU and almost 10Gb of RAM. Seems like a real memory leak to me for a system running idle.

Is there a way to minimize these usages, because although I have enough resources, I really like to see my system run low when it's supposed to? I've had this problem on a Windows 8.1 system before, but I could never pinpoint the problem there so I just
downgraded to Windows 7. In this case, I really want to keep my installation of Windows 10.

Hope someone can help me out, would love to hear from you guys.

New to WIndows 10. Idle RAM usage, What proccesses can I disable?

Hello, Im new to Windows 10. My PC have 4gb of RAM. Idle RAM usage on windows 7 15 min after start-up was 600-700 MB, but on Win 10 it is 1.5-1.8GB. How can I free up more RAM?
