Windows 10: What version do I revert to?

I would like to go back to a less secure but working version of Windows 10. Recent updates have fucked up all three of my computers. Before anyone tells me these are necessary, I don't want to hear it unless the update won't fork me over like the last few. And I know for a fact its the updates because these problems popped up right after the updates. My systems have slowed down. HDs and SDs have slowed down significantly. I received pink flickers on a laptop. I've patched things up with ccleaner and that managed to give me back a bit of speed, but its nowhere near comfortable. I can't use windows back up because microsoft fucked it up.

So, fellow users, what was the last update that didn't cause you any problems? Should I just switch to Linux?

Revert back to previous versions

I installed Windows 10 1 week ago and need to revert to windows 8.1. I have tried both of your suggestion to revert and a) do not have a 'revert to windows 8.1' listing on my settings-restore page and b) when I restart the PC holding the shift key and
select 'revert to previous build' I get a WDF Violation error and the system restarts Windows 10. There is a windows.old folder. I'm stuck, what can I do to restore Windows 8.1?
