Windows 10: What version of windows 10 is on the retail copy?

Hi there, going to be building a new PC in the next month or so and I purchased (last month 06/19) a retail copy of win10 (existing PC upgraded from win7) for it (wanted multiple license reuse in the case of motherboard changes) just wondering what version of windows 10 is on the retail copy as I need to figure out how much windows updates there will be post install as I am on a capped bandwidth plan from my ISP.

Which is good news actually, because Windows 8.1 is loads cheaper than previous versions (retail licensing at Windows 7 OEM prices). And it sort of puts a huge hole in the Windows subscription theory.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Exchange Windows 10 Retail Copy for Updated Version

I bought a retail copy of Windows 10 in 2015 and I would like to get an updated retail copy without having to buy one at full price because starting over from scratch with my old Windows 10 copy takes way too long with Windows update. There have been so
many updates since 2015 that Windows update crashes and has to be restarted in order to update Windows 10 to the current version. If this is possible, please tell me how.
