    What're these files on main disk with random letters and numbers 300 GB


    I'm worried that I have a virus or some sort of malware or something, so I thought I'd ask. I have these files on my main drive that have random letters and numbers as the file name. I read online that sometimes these files happen when an update happens or they might be some sort of temp files. My only concern is that the folder is a massive 300 GB. I ran the full scan through the virus and threat protection on Windows Security and the full scan via PC Matic. Both scans said there's no virus or anything on my computer. Are these files ok and normal? I just don't understand why they would take

    can not backup long files named with random numbers and letters

    why does my backup exclude the long files made up of random numbers and letters? What are they?

    I did not create them.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.


    • Right click on the Start Menu.

    • Select Disk Management.

    • Right-click on the drive letter you want to change and click
      Change Drive Letter and Paths.

    • Click Change...

    • Use the drop down to the right of Assign the following drive letter: to select a new drive letter.

    • Click OK.
    Try formatting the disk again.

    Change Disk Numbers - Drive Running At 1.5 Gb/s Instead Of 3 Gb/s

    I have recently moved my new 6 Gb/s operating system drive from a 3 Gb/s SATA controller to a 6 Gb/s SATA controller. The only problem is that the disk number changes.

    For example, instead of my operating system drive being Disk 0, it is now Disk 2, and instead of being at the top of the list in Disk Management and Macrium Reflect, it is at the bottom.

    Can the disk number be changed, or doesn't it matter?
