    What's going on with this DISM log


    My pc has been very slow with 100% disk and high processor activity for some time.I frequently get the message "explorer.exe is not in the correct state"I have run the DISM command in the past with successful repair ?The DISM online repair and restore health found these problems, "C:\Users\james\OneDrive\dism.log"Can anyone help?

    DISM Logging disabled

    I can locate the log, as you suggested, however the log file is empty (size 0 bytes).

    I have run the suggested command above; no change.
    The full error is: "Logging is disabled: unable to obtain access to the log file c:\windows\logs\dism\dism.log.

    dism log

    Try these in order:

    • dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
    • dism /online /cleanup-image /ScanHealth
    • dism /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
    Let me know how it goes...

    How to get damn DISM to work?

    Thx guys, I'll compress this data into a blog post. For all the so called guides I've read, not a single one mentioned it has to be WIM file (some listed even ESD which clearly doesn't work) or that certain ISO images don't work with DISM.

    After I've done DISM thingie, SFC also managed to repair stuff. Which is what I've needed here.
