Windows 10: What's my product key?

I upgraded my RETAIL Windows 7 Professional X64 to Windows 10 Professional X64 when this upgrade was available. I want to wipe my system clean and reinstall window 10 but I don't know which key to use. When I use two product key finder utilities, I get two different keys. They pull the keys from the following locations:Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatformBackupProductKeyDefault VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-XXXXX-XXXXX Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion DigitalProductID TY4CG-JDJH7-VJ2WF-X

i know the product id but forget the product key

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.

Where is my Product Key if I want to re-install?


Like davidhk said. But if you really want to see your windows key, I would suggest Belarc advisor. It will give you some useful information about your system, product keys of your software is among them (not only Microsoft, you will have listed most of your keys).
