  2. How can I view my saved passwords in credential manager?

Hello Deborah, how are you doing?

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

I'm glad to be able to assist you at this time.

    --

To view and manage saved passwords in Windows 10, you can use the Credential Manager. Here's how:

    1. Through the start menu, open the Control Panel.

    2. Go to User Accounts.

    3. Click on Credential Manager.

    4. In the Credential Manager window, you will see two sections: Web Credentials and Windows Credentials.

    5. Click on Web Credentials to view your saved website passwords.

You will see a list of websites and their associated usernames and passwords.

    6. Click on the website for which you want to change the username or password.

    Click on Edit.

    7. Enter the new username and password.

    8. Click on Save.

These steps allow you to easily modify or add usernames and passwords for websites saved in Credential Manager.

    Password Manager

    Hi Steve1956(2),

    is this in a browser?

normally there is a setting in the browser to turn off the saving off passwords.

    in edge chromium

click the ellipsis (...) and select settings

    in profiles click passwords

turn off "offer to save passwords" edge will then not save any new passwords

turn off "sign in automatically" edge will then ask before it signs into a site.

you can delete any previously saved passwords by clicking the the ellipsis then delete, to the right of the password in the list.

    in legacy edge

click the ellipsis (...) and select settings

select passwords & autofill (key icon)

    turn off save passwords

to edit a password, click manage passwords

click on the site you wish to edit

if the problem is in a different browser please let me know which

you can also view or delete saved passwords using windows credential manager

click start, type credential manager and select it from the list

in web credentials, click the chevron to the right of the site

click show to view the saved password (you will be asked for your windows password to make sure it is you)

or click remove to delete it

Excel Workbook Not Saving with Password

    Hi 54646415,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you're having trouble saving an Excel workbook with a password in Microsoft 365. Just a heads up that in regards to this kind of issue, our option is limited and we can only perform basic troubleshooting steps. Please allow me to ask some questions to better understand your concern.

    • May I know what version and edition of Office installed in your computer? Is it for Business or for Consumer?
      • You can open any Office apps
      • Go to File > Accounts - on the right side you can see Product Information
    • Is this happening to all of your Excel Document?

One possible reason for this issue could be that the file is being opened in read-only mode by another user, which is preventing you from saving the file with a password. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    • Try saving the file to a different location, such as your desktop, and see if you are able to save it with a password there. If you are able to save it with a password in a different location, the issue may be related to the server or network.
    • If the issue persists, you may want to try repairing or reinstalling Microsoft 365. To do this,
      • Open the Start menu and click on Settings.
      • Click on Apps.
      • Scroll down and find Microsoft Office in the list of installed apps.
      • Click on Microsoft Office and select Modify.
      • Select Quick Repair and click on Repair.

    • Ask all other users to close the Excel file and ensure that no one else is accessing the file.
    • Open the Excel file and enter the password to unlock the file.
    • Click on the "File" tab and select "Save As."
    • In the "Save As" dialog box, select the location where you want to save the file and enter a new file name.
    • Click on the "Tools" dropdown menu and select "General Options."
    • In the "General Options" dialog box, enter a password in the "Password to modify" field.
    • Click "OK" to save the changes and close the dialog box.
    • Click "Save" to save the file with the password.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,
