Windows 10: What’s the best way to share transfer a lot of pictures and videos from my Mac to Windows 10?

Hello! So I’m a Mac user but I also have a dual boot PC (Ubuntu and Windows 10) that I allow my kids to use for games and homework. They both have accounts under and I was looking for a fast/efficient way for me to copy family pictures from my iCloud account to them.

So, what’s the best way to accomplish this?

Re transferring pictures to Window 10

I just transferred pictures to Windows 10 from my Samsung Galaxy Android phone. The pictures were transferred but they are in a separate list and I cannot transfer any of them as as attachment or to my Facebook account. Any suggestions.

Transfering data from a mobile to a Mac

Pictures on the phone can be uploaded from the Pictures hub (the gallery) to OneDrive through the Share option, where OneDrive is one of several options.

Either tap and hold (long-press) one file and choose Share ... in the pop-up, or first select multiple (the 'list' icon at the bottom), and then use the '3 arrows in a circle' icon. Videos has to be uploaded one-by-one.

The Share option may be implemented differently in other apps, but a long-press on a file or looking in the options menu (. . .) is always worth a try.

Notice that files are only shared with yourself on OneDrive, except those in the pre-defined Public folder, and those you elect to share.

Next, on the Mac, in Safari or another Internet browser, go to

Microsoft OneDrive - Access files anywhere. Create docs with free Office Online.

And log on with the same Microsoft user name as used on the phone.

Files can be downloaded to the Mac from here, and you can upload files from the Mac to OneDrive - which can then be accessed in the OneDrive app on the phone.

The above is very inconvenient, so I suggest request assistance from an experienced Mac user to install and configure the deprecated USB transfer app and some updated drivers on the Mac. A relevant thread in Apple Discussions:

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
