What's The Big Deal About This New Windows 10 Creator?

It's perhaps unfortunate that MS chose to name the next version of Windows 10 the 'Creators Update', leaving open the possible confusion with the Media Creation Tool used to make the ISO media.

The current MCT makes the ISO for the Anniversary Update (aka version 1607). Come April 11th a new MCT will be released that makes the ISO for the Creators Update (likely to be called version 1703). The links TheVerge give are supposed to be the direct downloads of ISOs already made available to Insiders - a backdoor way to get 1703 before it's officially released.

Apparently others are saying those links don't work. Looks like we'll have to wait for April 11th after all.

I had to read the article three times to make sure I understand it the way you explained. Sounded like a big update/upgrade but the two words "Creator Update" snaps my mind to the ". . . Creation Tool". Did not believe it because of their coined name.

Thanks for clarifying that. Well appreciated.

  6. Creator Update is The name that they are Calling build 15063 just like build 14393 was called the Anniversary update. The Links are dead. MS pulled them because they were released too soon. When MS does release the Media Creation Tool, it will allow you to install or upgrade to build 15063 prior to the Official Release date of 4/11/2017. MS has confused the entire universe with this.*Smile
