Windows 10: What's the difference between a hard reset and reinstalling Windows?

Now I'm not talking about doing a soft reset. You know the one that it keeps your files. I'm talking about a hard reset. The one that deletes everything. What's the difference between doing this and reinstalling OS all together?

Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.

fldude99, you're right. According to the Nokia team, it's a suggested step to reset after update.



And, FYI, Hard reset is the 3 finger salute, because it is effected by a hardware interaction. Soft reset or Formatting the phone memory is done by entering *#7370#.



There is practically no difference between hard reset and the soft reset. It could be that the hard reset would re-initialize some system parameters, which is triggered by the hardware. Only Nokia can say what the exact difference is.
