Windows 10: Whats the effects of Documents folder and the programs that are using it after Unlinking...

HiI read the thread at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/changing-onedrive-as-default-document-folder-in/fa503443-5e80-438a-82ff-da3c42bf6bb5, and read up on how to unlink onedrive from your PC but its not the most detailed information about what happens when you unlink onedrive>I iam curious what effects this will have with all the folders in there that are installed and used by other programs, will there be any side effects with those other programs operating properly?Will the file path change to and start using C:\Users\UserName\Documents like it used to be in mo

Downloads folder is the Documents folder

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Unlink my Documents folder from OneDrive

If i am clear with your description, you want to unlink Onedrive from where is synced rigth now and start a syncrhonization in the following path C:\Users\jjcla\Documents is that correct?

Then after you follow my suggestion you can achieve it, and also can choose the files you want to sync following this steps:
