Windows 10: What's the point that when you disable the state repository, it takes a long time to load...

I understand that by disabling the state repository, the entire setup interface designed for Windows 10 won't work at all, but why does this have to affect the system launcher? It doesn't make sense from my way of thinking, and I think things like this indicate Microsoft's monopoly.

Explorer and "StateRepository State Repository Service" causing extreme loading times on folders with Images.

I tried reinstalling the previous build of Windows 10 , and back to the Fall Creators Update as a complete reinstall ( not an upgrade ) . The previous version installs cleanly , no issue with State Repository Service . If I do a clean install of the Fall
Creators Update , upon the very first boot , this issue with the State Repository Service begins .

Once again , I have NOT installed anything else at this point , no drivers , no other updates , no antivirus , just a pristine Windows install . As soon as I open Explorer to look at anything , the issue begins . With Task Manager open , I'll see State
Repository Service using up to 90% CPU.

However , I followed the direction at the following link

and it seems to have cleared up the issue for me . I tried it on 3 iterations ( wipe , reinstall , apply the .bat ) , and it worked for all 3 .

I'm have been running the 5th iteration now long enough to have reinstalled all of my software , all drivers , etc. , and I have had no conflicts or other issues with the State Repository Service since .

 

Long Loading Time for Lock Screen

I've tried all of the steps that you've given me. Unfortunately, none of them made a difference except for the clean boot step. It didn't completely solve the problem, however I did notice a
slightly faster load time for the lock screen. However, it still takes an unusually long time to load it. Any other suggestions?

I also have the same issue. Clean install of Windows 10 Pro, installing on a new SSD. Downloaded Windows on to a USB drive with

this tool, today.

Service host: state repository service was consuming up to 60% of my 8700k, slowing my computer down. When clicking URL's in Mumble, the URL's wouldn't load (or even start the browser) for 1-2 minutes. This seemed to increase the CPU load of state repository
service. Same issue when clicking searching results on Bing or starting file downloads in Microsoft Edge. The website would hang for a minute or two before loading the page. Chrome does not have this issue.
