Windows 10: What's This New Drive?

No new physical additional drives.

I open Defraggler:




I see PortableBaseLayer. What's that?
I went to the program directory path, and found these. I try to open the first item, which happens to be a folder. Cannot access it. Taking ownership doesn't work on it:




Cannot open this file:




And the Snapshot folder has a few files that shows me a similar error when trying to open. What's all this? Let's get rid of it.

Reinstall Windows 10 to new hard drive

• Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
• If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?

We suggest creating a new copy of the recovery drive and then follow the steps provided by Andre Da Costa above this thread.

Hard drive/ OS issue

• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD

Win 10 I have drives c, f, g when installed new printed drive f disappeared and only shows g how can i make compute showdrive f

To address your concern about missing drive, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

• Press Windows logo key + S on your keyboard.
• Type diskmgmt.msc on the search box and hit Enter.
• Look for your missing drive on the Disk Management window.
  
• Right-click on it and give it a new drive letter.

Let us know if the drive will show up.
