Windows 10: Whatsapp calls also hear my device audio, how to fix it?

During whatsapp group calls, i often watch stuff on the internet while talking. is there a way to make the microphone not hear the sounds on my windows 11 device, but only my voice?

I can't hear audio while on call (Zoom, Discord, Whatsapp) - Nitro 5

Hello everyone, I'm a bit frustrated. I acquired the Acer Nitro 5 and I'm using it for the first time today. However, today I discovered that when using Zoom (or any other communication program like Skype, Discord, WhatsApp), I can't hear music from other sources (browsers, Spotify). I can manage it if I switch the outputs. That means putting one output on Zoom and another output on the browser. However, that's not what I want. I want both to come out through the same output, which is my headphone. In other words, I want to hear the Zoom call while listening to music elsewhere.

I can do this perfectly on my Acer Aspire and my desktop using the same headphones. However, I can't do it using the Nitro 5.

What I've tried:

1. Manage audio devices > selected the speaker I want to listen to > properties > allow applications to take exclusive control of this device > unchecked.
   
2. Manage audio devices > communications > when Windows detects communication activity > selected "do nothing."
   
3. Reinstall the sound driver (Realtek).
   

It didn't work.

I work with video calls where I need to share screen with audio. It's impossible to work like this if I can't hear audio elsewhere while on the call.

I'm frustrated because it was an expensive laptop and I can't do something that even my 2010 Acer does.

No Whatsapp Mic

W10 Whatsapp text works fine but I can't get audio out to work. Have been through all the "how to" help and can't find a microphone to turn on for Whatsapp. Thank you. - - - Updated - - - Ok, let's try another approach. This is a new ASUS laptop and I am new to W10. It is not just Whatsapp; I cant get the microphone to work on other apps either. I've been through all the steps with privacy, camera, connecting apps and I guess a few others. There must be some simple enable step I'm missing. - - - Updated - - - Well, persistence does pay off. I followed some instructions to check for needed driver updates with My Asus and yes, there were newer versions for audio and camera. I installed them and all is well. Funny thing is checking in Device Manager I was told I had the latest of everything. So I learned something new this evening.

 

Whatsapp desktop - making a chat / call with no contacts

A friend uses Whatsapp from a phone. I'd like to use whatsapp from my desktop or phone to communicate with them.

I have installed whatsapp on my android phone and have connected the desktop. And am leaving the phone turned on, as directed.

I refused to permit Whatsapp to read my contacts, etc.. I'm not a big facebook fan and know that they share everything everywhere and sell it everywhere.

However, I cannot figure a way to make or even receive a call using whatsapp without using my contacts list.
Is this true or is there something I'm missing. On the desktop app I put in a phone number and it wants to search my contacts, which of course it does not have. After using "Create Group" same thing.

No way to make a call at all with whatsapp if you don't share your contacts with it?

if so, Whatsapp is completely broken for me.

And if so that's fine since I can use Skype or Discord just fine.
