    Diagnosing Windows 10 WHEA Internal Error

    I have recently configured
    a new server/workstation    , but in Windows (and Linux), I experience frequent BSOD and freezing on Linux, on Windows 10, with the BSOD of
    WHEA_INTERNAL_ERROR.

    Possible causes:

    • Faulty xeon processor (I am using the ES (engineering sample) version of the xeon-e5-2630v4)
    • Faulty graphics card (GTX 780)
    • Incompatible graphics card driver
    • Faulty external sound card, via PCI: RME Fireface 400

    Here are links to my system msinformation and

    previous crash minidumps    . I am hopeful someone here can help me diagnose the issue.

    bsod caused by pci.sys?

    Sorry, i forgot to specify that i got the bsod: WHEA_INTERNAL_ERROR, and have been getting WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR previously. I have a core i5-8400, 16gb ddr4, and a gtx 1050.

    Hello, my name is Gabriel S. I hope to help you today.

    If certain drivers are not compatible with your operating system, or if they are outdated or buggy, you will get a BdOD WHEA_INTERNAL_ERROR error and your system will crash.

    To prevent this error from appearing, it is important that you update your drivers, and you can do this simply by using Device Manager:

    Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard to open the Power User Menu. Select Device Manager from the list.

    When Device Manager opens locate the device you want to update, right-click and select Update Driver Software.

    Select Search automatically for updated driver software and wait for Windows 10 to download the appropriate driver for your device.

    Repeat these steps for all the drivers you want to update.

    Note: Although using Device Manager to update drivers is fairly straightforward, you should know that Device Manager does not always download the latest drivers. If you want to make sure you have the latest drivers installed, we recommend that you download
    them manually. To do this, simply visit the hardware manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your device. Please note that you may need to update all of your drivers to fix this error.
