My PC reboots randomly and, when looking at the Event Viewer, it always gives "whea_uncorrectable_error ID 46 - Component: Memory Error, Source: Machine Check Exception". I've performed a thorough memory check, without any result. It may happen at any time of the day and while working with any application. What can I do to avoid these situations? If this can help, here is the link to my minidump file when the error occured: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QFPHVJcLKJus0fbJ5hyeK7B4k1I4ehxG/view?usp=sharingThanks in advance for any help.

  2. whea_uncorrectable_error ID 46 - Component: Memory Error, Source: Machine Check Exception

    Hey all,

I've recently build a PC from scratch with Windows 11 installed.

Most everything works fine except that I get random BSODs while gaming, displaying the "whea_uncorrectable_error". More graphically intense games cause the BSOD faster (i.e., Total Warhammer 3 usually causes a crash in under ten minutes, while Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 lasts roughly 45 minutes, and I usually won't ever hit a crash with older, less graphic-intensive games).

When I go into the event viewer, I see:

    Source: WHEA_Logger

    Event ID: 46

    Description:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

    Component: Memory

    Error Source: Machine Check Exception

Here is the associated minidump file, which I have no idea how to read.

    Microsoft OneDrive

Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue:

I've run the windows memory diagnostic and memtest86. Both reported 0 issues.

I've re-seated my RAM and CPU cooler.

I've run various benchmarks and stress tests using 3DMark. These do not reproduce the crash.

Here is my parts list if it's relevant:

Hi Paul! Thank you for the reply.

As far as I can tell, my drivers are up to date.

I've got the latest firmware for my BIOS (3002, listed here) and used this auto-detect tool from AMD to update my chipset and GPU drivers.

Am I possibly updating them the wrong way? Or is there some other driver I should check?
