Hi Sirs, The computer uses a shared interface for PS/2 keyboard and mouse. When the computer is turned on to OS for the first time, the PS/2 device may not be recognized or recognize the wrong device PS/2 keyboard recognized as mouse. Unless fast startup is disabled or the computer do restarted. Do you have any suggestion for it?

How to connect PS/2 Keyboard and mouse in Windows 10?!

So, my keyboard and mouse are having PS/2 ports. When I insert it the sensor light at back of the mouse turn on but it doesn't move the cursor or say it doesn't work but the power supply is okay, and with the keyboard it's the same it also when inserted
gets power supply and Num Lock, Caps Lock Led(s) blink for 2 sec and then pause and blink again for 2 seconds but it also doesn't work and it is also just plugged so I want to know the steps to update the driver or any other method I can use to get my PS/2
keyboard and mouse working in my computer, I also have spare USB keyboard and mouse. Please help!!!

Also I checked they are not even listed in the device manager.

Sr, I am using Windows 10 on my Lenovo Laptop. My PC was OK till I connected a PS/2 keyboard on it. After I disconnected that PS/2 keyboard, My internal Keyboard is badly working i.e it is autotyping a particular key randomly and whenever I go on Device
Manager, The keyboard Driver is showing as Standard PS/2 keyboard though there is not any PS/2 keyboard connected. I have uninstalled the keyboard driver and restarted my PC but there is a beeping sound and the Standard PS/2 keyboard driver is back on device
manager. I have also removed my internal Keyboard and reinstalled it but no difference was made. I have also attached the Standard PS/2 keyboard again but nothing worked. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Windows 10 but nothing actually worked. Should I buy
a new internal Keyboard? Will that fix the problem? I actually don't know why is my internal Keyboard is showing as Standard PS/2 keyboard in device manager. Please help and suggest me what to do to fix this.

If your APM settings are either missing or have "Power on by PS/2 keyboard" disabled, your best bet is to disable other power saving / wake up settings.

For example, Windows 8 and onward tend to boot with PS/2 keyboard even if all BIOS settings are turned off, if "fast boot", "fast startup" or similar options are enabled in BIOS. This is because of "hybrid shutdown technology" the OS uses.
